The purpose of the 'FundVision Discussion Board' is to promote discussion among the chartists, timers, traders and those investors who manage their portfolios in an 'active' manner.
Investors who consider themselves as chartists, timers and traders are welcome to participate / lurk. As are those want to learn about charting, timing, trading and active portfolio management. And so are the professional reporters, professional financial planners, representative(s) of mutual fund(s), representative(s) of brokerage house(es), professional brokers and professional money managers who are interested in knowing the opinions of the chartists, timers and traders.
If you are a reporter, financial planner, representative of mutual fund(s) or brokerage(s), broker, money-manager or research-student and wish to make a post/message so as to publish any document / text / material (for any purpose - internal/external) based on response(s) or to improve/change/cancel a particular portion of your service/project or to know the opinion(s) about any particular portion of your service, then you must submit the text of the post/message you want to make to the moderator of the board (moderator@fundvision.com) for review and obtain a formal permission before you submit it on the 'FundVision Discussion Board'.
FundVision suggests that the discussion be kept focussed on the main topics 'Mutual Funds', 'Technical Analysis' and 'WEBs/Spiders'. (Exception to this is the 'FVDB Off-Topic' board, which is for any off-topic discussion that participants may find of interest. All of the rules below apply to 'FVDB Off-Topic' board except that 'Off-Topic' discussion is permitted in there.) However, the discussions about 'Stocks', 'Buy and Hold Strategy', 'Fundamental Analysis', 'Economic Forecasts', 'Current events and their effects on the Fianncial Markets', etc. which compliment, contribute, explain, clarify, ... the main topics are also welcome. As are the posts/messages about 'Taxes', 'IRAs', 401(k)s ...
The individuals who are not interested in managing their portfolios in an active manner are not welcome to use this service. The individuals who have the opinion that the markets are totally 'random' and that the market movement cannot be 'predicted' (random walkers) are also not welcome to use this serivce. The individuals who believe that 'passive-indexing' is the only right method to invest are also not welcome to use this service. Finally, the individuals who believe that 'market-timing' does not work are also not welcome to use this service. (In the interest of saving the bandwidth, FundVision suggests such individuals not to use this service. Neither participation nor lurking. Exception to this are those individuals/companies who are invited and/or authorized by FundVision to visit this service for review, maintenenace, administration or any other purpose.)
The participants must not submit post/messages that:
- are off-topic.
- use uncivil language.
- denigrate / belittle / ridicule individual(s) or corporation(s) or investment style(s).
- advertize or promote or sell any product(s) / service(s) / other web site(s) - covertly or overtly
- are mostly in language other than English.
- are inquiries about moderation / policies. (Exception to this is the Off-Topic board where such posts may be submitted.)
The participants must not submit posts/messages that contain any material that is or that may-be copyrighted by someone other than the participant him/her self.
The participants must not submit posts/messages on behalf of any other individual or organization. (Only exception to this is when there is some HTML or other formatting involved which the participant is unable to do. In which case the Moderator may make post(s) on the behalf of the participant by making the formatting for the participant.) Each participant must express his/her own opinion(s) thru his/her post(s)/messag(es).
The participant must not submit the post(s)/message(es) where the bulk of the post is formed by the 'quoted' material.
(If post(s)/messag(es) submitted by the participant is/are 'quoting' from the material of any other individual or organization for the purpose of explaining or clarifying his/her opinion(s) based on the 'quoted' material or for the purpose of explaining or clarifying his/her counter-opinion(s) based on the 'quoted' material then it is okay. However the 'quoted' material must be kept to the minimum - Typically to a few sentences or a few paragraphs.)
It is okay if the bulk for the material of the post/message is madeup of the quoted material if quoted material is written by one (or more) of the participants and the purpose of quoting is to refresh the memory of the participant(s) and/or to provide a quick reference for the benefit of the other readers to clarify the subject matter getting discussed.
Typical ntip (no text in post) posts will be deleted (after a few days). Posts that are humorous but have little to do with the main topic of discussion will also be deleted. (Both these rules are to save the disk-space of the Archive.)
Individuals who wish to participate are required to go thru the archives and ensure that the name/alias they are planning to use for making the post/message is not already used by someone else. If it is already used, one may consider using his/her first-name, middle-name, last-name or some combination of first/middle/last names to make his/her name used for making the post/message unique. (Doing this avoids any confusion about identity of the participant.) Individuals who wish to participate are required to use a unique name/alias for all their posts at FundVision/MutualFundVision.
The purpose of 'Hyperlink' facility in the posts is for providing relevant hyperlink to the topic being discussed in the post.
(The 'Hyperlink' facility must not be used for promoting other web-site(s) or for providing links to one's own web-site(s).)
The posts that are in violation of the rule(s) will be deleted. FundVision's discretion in this matter will be final and binding.
The posts that have some improper 'Name', 'Title', 'Hyperlink - Title/URL/Image' '.GIF file to be Uploaded', 'Text of the Post' will be deleted. FundVision's discretion in this matter will be final and binding.
The participant who violates the rules and/or whose posts/messages are found not to support the purpose will be banned from using this service. The posts/messages from such a participant will be rejected and/or deleted. FundVision's discretion in this matter will be final and binding.
The moderator (Salil V Gangal) at times will make posts that are relevant to administration and/or any other matter(s) regarding this service or posts that are relevant to Salil V Gangal on a personal basis. Such posts of course will not be relevant to the suggested main topics of discussion. FundVision reserves the right to make any such post(s) and FundVision's discretion in this matter will be final and binding. Such posts will be made using the name 'Moderator' and/or 'Salil V Gangal'.
- Alterations and additions may be made to the rule(s), purpose, policy at any point in time.
