Having once also been a servant at "the company," I can vouch for the fact that there are few gov't sins deemed more loathesome than "outting" an operative from the D.O. (at the CIA).... and doing it for petty partisan purposes!!??? Makes Whitewater, Monica-gate, etc. seem all too petty by comparison - if true.
Oooooh my.... For the President's sake, sure hope Buchanan is right in theorizing that the culprit was a low-level Whitehouse operative purporting to speak for Carl Rove, etc. Then again, there's the question of just how in the heck a low-level Whitehouse operative was informed of her sensitive position and her employer.... (Can you say a plant from a certain foreign intel source - the same ones who spun the original bogus Niger cake story?)
In any case, no doubt this will set back recruitment at the "agency" for years....
Where's Tom Clancey when you need him?
