For those of us old enough to remember, there was a draft during Vietnam that precluded activating or mobilizing the reserves. Accordingly, the national guard or reserve units were the out for those who's lottery number (draft methodology) was low enough to matter. Because of this, the reserves and guard were full and not taking enlistments. HOWEVER, if you had pull or clout - like bush and quail (sp), your family could get you in.

For those that didn't have clout, they could go to jail, serve peace corps on a CO if provable, go to canada.

Bush is simply a draft dodging coward and no american veteran can say different. Yeah, they can rationalize it . . . and come up with this and that . . . but they know better.

Christ, at least Kerry served and you can naysay the one purple heart, but the other two and the silver star you can take to the bank.
