Apparently Suncor SUNCOR ENERGY (NYSE:SU) processes oil sand into petroleum products. Its stock has been on the upside over the past 5 years but Suncor also has a natural gas production operation. An oil sand website says the Canadian oil sands are the largest petroleum deposit in the world and that production costs are Canadian$18/bbl which is somewhat more than the US$7/bbl number I heard "off-the-record" and the US$10/bbl "on-the-record" cost.
