different of magnitue maybe.... but absolutely inescusable. What were those US soldiers thinking? That they could get on Jerry Springer? Or Howard Stern? As it turns out, only "film production" they are likely to show up in is the next recruitment video for Bin Laden....

As I posted on another closed site, is this so surprising? For two years now, Americans have generally been conditioned to believe that Muslims are less than human - than anybody who doesn't like is akin to being a "terrorist." Afghan captives were deemed "technically" not protected by Geneva Accords - hell, we're even holding US citizens without charge or contact to their families.... Worse, it has been WIDELY reported (and never denied by the Pentagon) that we have routinely been capturing "suspects" and then allowing our "friends" in the region to torture them - while CIA analysts sit in the same room taking notes.... (in Egypt and Jordan in particular)

By the way, I also have heard that the lawyer for one of the accused US grunts is claiming that they were only "following orders." Apparently, all the soldiers in the photos are from West Virginia (sic) - and they were told by higher ups that the humiliation routines - especially the pictures - were designed by superiors to "soften up" "terrorists" so that they would reveal information....

Oh, and compounding matters, CBS reported that the US General "in charge" of Iraqi prisoners has already been sacked.... but her replacement is coming straight from Guantanamo Bay....

Beam me up.....
